Makarska - Kalelarga Night

Print Published: 18/08/2010
Makarska - Kalelarga Night

Makarska Summer is slowly coming to its end. This cultural and entertaining manifestation has yet again brought many interesting events to Makarska. One of the last local feasts of Makarska Summer for this season will be held on August 20th. Organizers of traditional Kalelarga Night wanted to bring back old fame and life to the once main town street – Kalelarga, which it used to have. Every year they succeed in bringing the old street back to life when plenty of visitors gather for a good night out. Singing Dalmatian klapas entertain locals and tourists on town squares and streets. Pop concerts make everybody dance, and local food specialties can be bought at nearby stands. Visitors in Makarska can try traditional sweets – Makarana cake, fritters and “krostule” (traditional Dalmatian pastry)- along with domestic spirits and enjoy the party.
