Passport

• A passport or some other identification document recognized by international agreement; information: diplomatic missions of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia (tel.: 01/45 69 964).

Customs regulations

• foreign currency can be freely brought in and out of the country; domestic currency up to 2.000,00 kuna
• professional and technical equipment of a high value must be declared at the border
• accompanied animals must have a valid international veterinary certificate (CTES)
• tax refund to foreign citizen for purchased goods in the amount greater than 500 kuna with the attestation of the form entitled "Tax Check", stamped by customs officers, when leaving the country

Money

• official currency of Croatia is the Kuna (1 Kuna = 100 Lipa)
• foreign currency is exchanged in banks, exchange offices, post offices, in most travel agencies, hotels, camps, marinas. Euro checks are cashed only in banks  
• banks are open from 7 am to 7 pm weekdays, and till 1 pm on Saturdays; in major cities, banks on duty are also open on Sundays

Credit cards

• hotels accept all major credit cards (Eurocard/MasterCard, American Express, Diners, Visa and Sport Card International) and Eurocheques
• most restaurants and shops accept Eurocard/MasterCard, American Express, Diners and Visa
• accessing money on automated cash machines is possible in almost all towns and tourist resorts; almost all automated cash machine accept Eurocard/MasterCard, Diners, American Express and Visa

Post and telecommunications

• Post offices are open from 7 am to 7 pm weekdays; and till 2 pm is smaller towns and villages; some are working split shifts. In larger cities and tourist resorts, post offices on duty are open till 10 pm as well as on Sundays
• postage stamps are sold in Post offices and at newsstands 
• phone cards, which are sold at post offices and newsstands, are used for all public telephones. Calls to foreign countries can be made directly from any public telephone.

Working hours of stores and public services

• most shops are open from 8 am to 8 pm weekdays, and till 2 or 3 pm on Saturdays; some shops close between noon and 4 pm; many shops are open on Sundays, especially in summer, and a smaller number in the larger cities are open 24 hours
• public services and business offices work from 8 am till 4 pm from Monday through Friday.

Medical services

• there are hospitals and clinics in all major town, and health centers in all the major smaller places 
• pharmacies are open from 8 am to 7 pm on weekdays, and till 2 pm on Saturdays; in larger cities, pharmacies on duty are open 24 hours

Electric power and water supply

• electricity: 220 V, 50 Hz
• tap water is potable everywhere is Croatia 

Radio-news in foreign languages

• Croatian Radio, First Channel, news in English, every day on 8:03 am, 2:03 pm and 8:03 pm, on Sundays on 9:03 am 
• Croatian Radio, Second Channel, reports on road conditions in the English, German and Italian language during the tourist season
