Holiday homes with swimming pool

Holiday homes with a pool are one of the most sought-after types of accommodation in Croatia. They offer greater privacy, your own space for relaxation, and the opportunity to spend every moment of your vacation by the water – without the crowds and restrictions of public beaches.
They are available throughout Croatia, along the coast, on the islands, and in the interior, in quiet locations as well as popular tourist regions.
Whether you are looking for a smaller house for two, a family home with a fenced yard and a children's corner, or a luxury villa with an infinity pool, jacuzzi, and sauna, the range of holiday homes with a pool covers various vacation styles and budgets. Many houses combine proximity to the sea or city amenities with the peace of a private garden and a terrace by the pool.

Why choose a holiday home with a pool?

Privacy and space – your own pool, terrace, and yard just for you Ideal for families and groups – more rooms, a living room, and outdoor space for socializing Extended swimming season – especially in houses with a heated pool or jacuzzi Flexibility – no hotel rules, meal times, or crowds around sun loungers Combination of sea and pool – morning at the beach, afternoon by the private pool Additional facilities – barbecue, garden, children's playground, wellness zone, or sports equipment.

When to rent a holiday home with a pool?

Croatia has a long season with many sunny days, which makes holiday homes with a pool an excellent choice for most of the year.
On the coast, summers can be very warm, while spring and autumn are ideal for those who want more peace, lower prices, and pleasant temperatures for spending time on the terrace and by the pool.
In the interior, winters are colder, but houses with a heated pool or jacuzzi allow for a pleasant stay even outside the main summer season.

An overview of the seasons with approximate temperatures and typical characteristics, to help you choose the ideal time for your holiday

Season Temperatures Characteristics
Spring (March–May) 15-22°C Pleasant daytime temperatures, cooler evenings
Fewer crowds, more favorable accommodation prices
Ideal for the first days of swimming in the pool (especially if heated), staying on the terrace, walks, and excursions
Nature is green, everything is in bloom, perfect for photos and outdoor stays
Summer (June–August) 25-33°C Peak season, most sunny days and the warmest sea
Maximum use of the pool from morning to evening
Ideal for family holidays, school breaks, and longer stays
Higher demand and higher prices, early booking is recommended
Autumn (September–October) 18-26°C Still warm, the sea retains its temperature, and the pool is still very pleasant for swimming
Fewer crowds in destinations, more relaxed atmosphere
Excellent period for a combination of swimming, eno-gastro experiences, and excursions
Often better prices than in July and August
Winter (November–February) 5-12°C on the coast, colder in the interior Focus on peace, wellness, and houses with heating, a fireplace, and (preferably) a heated pool or jacuzzi
Ideal for a holiday escape, New Year's holiday, or an extended weekend
Less daylight, but more intimacy and time to rest in the house

For the best balance of price, peace, and pleasant weather, it is most cost-effective to rent a holiday home with a pool in late spring (May – June) and early autumn (September – early October).
If you want to make the most of the pool and the sea and do not mind larger crowds and higher prices, summer (especially July and August) remains the first choice for a classic sunny holiday.

What to do on a vacation in a holiday home with pool?

Nature and relaxation

  • Morning swim in a private pool, before the rest of the house wakes up
  • Sunning on loungers by the pool, reading a book or listening to music
  • Walks in the surroundings – by the sea, through olive groves, vineyards or forest paths
  • Evening relaxation on the terrace with a barbecue, a glass of wine and a sunset view

Thermal spas and wellness

If you choose a holiday home with a pool near thermal spas or wellness centers, you can combine the best of both worlds – the privacy of your own pool and the facilities of professional spa centers.
You can start the day with a swim in the pool and breakfast on the terrace, and continue with a stay in thermal pools, saunas, massages and wellness treatments. This combination is excellent in spring, autumn and winter, when the spas are particularly attractive.

We returned to the accommodation after a few years and were again very satisfied with everything it has to offer. The owners were hospitable, we received attention upon arrival and upon departure - delicious homemade tangerines. The house has everything you need, an outdoor and indoor kitchenette, a grill, a dishwasher, 2 refrigerators, a washing machine, an outdoor pool... The area around the house is quiet and peaceful (even though it is located right next to the road), surrounded by olive groves. You can buy the freshest mussels, oysters and fish just a short walk from the house. The beach is not far at all and as a bonus, you have your own boat and paddleboard. We were very satisfied with our holiday and we would love to come back again.

There were six of us adults staying at this accommodation, and it was fantastic. Despite the mixed weather, we were able to do a lot, and the perfect room layout (each with its own bathroom) also provided plenty of space for relaxation. The spacious kitchen/dining/living area offers space for cooking together, playing games, and watching TV. The pool and outdoor areas are clean, and there are several places to relax. The hostess is very friendly. She greeted us personally and even stocked the fridge with some drinks. From start to finish, we felt welcome and in good hands. Highly recommended, and we'd love to come back 🤩 THANK YOU/HVALA

This allows you to choose between livelier locations near the city and locations in nature, far from the crowds.

2. Are holiday homes with a pool suitable for families with children?

Yes, most holiday homes with a pool are very suitable for families with children. They often offer multiple bedrooms, a fenced yard, a spacious terrace, a barbecue, and additional facilities like a children's corner or playground. You can select family-friendly houses in the search filters to find suitable accommodation. It is always a good idea to check the pool photos before booking.

3. What types of pools do holiday homes offer?
