The place Podaca is a matter of the heart for us. We have been coming here for over 10 years. This year it was a little different. Starting with the welcome of the host, who did not want to communicate in English, German, Polish, Slovak, Russian or Czech. His accommodation is located outside the GSM signal coverage, so it is better to go to him with a printed voucher, the info on the mobile phone or email is unusable without a signal. The accommodation facilities are modest, clean, the view from the balcony is of the sea about 300 m away. Podaca is a beautiful place, there were many restaurants, bistros and pizzerias. This year we had to narrow down the options for going out to eat to three establishments, the rest were closed by an inspection. A similar situation was on the opposite island of Hvar. Unfortunately, the catering options here encourage and directly invite you to pack your suitcase with canned goods and cutlets, as was done in the past. It is no longer what it used to be.
