Lighthouse description
Lighthouse Marlera was built in 1882 on peninsula Marlera, in close proximity to little town Ližnjan. This secluded lighthouse is situated on the rocks, 50 m from the sea, with a beautiful panoramic view of Cres, Lošinj, Velebit and surrounding islets. It's surrounded with 4 km of untouched nature - playground for rabbits, pheasant and deer. As far as water supply is concerned, Marlera, just like other lighthouses, has only a water storage tank with water for showering and dish-washing, so it's necessary to buy drinking water. Shower is situated at a place leading towards the glass dome of the lighthouse, making experience of taking a shower quite unusual and interesting. You can use stairs and climb up to the glass dome. 1500m2 of land adjoining the house is covered with lavender and rosemary. It features a parking and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue. Levan, a small private island, is also in close proximity and it features a beautiful sandy beach and a restaurant. Transfer to the island is free of charge for all guests. Optional services are available on request, and they range from luxury car rental and boat rental to rent-a-bike, excursions, diving to the nearby sunken ship, shuttle service with a driver and rent-a-chef for special occasions.

Besides being rich in diverse animal life and surrounded with beautiful flatland, Marlera boasts magnificent view of the nearby mountain and islands, and the fact it's situated close to city hustle, at the same time offering seclusion and peace. All in all Marlera is a true paradise, but not just any paradise - it's a honey paradise. Namely, numerous beekeepers have chosen its flatland area as a perfect location for their hives. But don't worry, they are placed far enough not to disturb the relaxation on this isolated cape. Marlera is surrounded with several islets and cliffs which are actually the reason why the lighthouse was built in the first place - since 1882 its light has been flashing at 21 meters above sea level and warning sailors there's a land nearby. Strong sea currents and winds adorn this lighthouse with a special, almost surreal ambiance during the cold winter.
