Two bedroom apartment with terrace Novalja, Pag A-23663-b

A very hectic and decidedly uncooperative stay. We were greeted by an owner who seemed annoyed by our every request and uncooperative. The house, despite being centrally located, had several issues with its utilities, particularly the non-functioning gas and an unreliable boiler. The lack of air conditioning in each room meant that the bedrooms reached very high temperatures, disturbing our sleep. Furthermore, the owner, very greedy and inquisitive, attempted to charge €10 for washing some dirty sheets, an absolutely absurd request from a hospitality business that supposedly offers these services to its guests. The same owner, who lives in the house across the street from our apartment, repeatedly showed up at our door in an inquisitive and threatening manner, leading to several unpleasant verbal confrontations. Constant surveillance is required. Highly discouraged.

As for the rooms, they didn't at all match the photos shown on the apartment's booking page; they were tiny, barely able to move around or close the door, which wasn't apparent in the photos. The bathroom was quite acceptable, except for the missing bidet and high shower bracket. The kitchen was reasonably well-stocked, but could be improved with a few more utensils, despite the apartment only sleeping four. Check-in and check-out were a bit rough, but I think it's essential that the owner (who doesn't speak our language or only a few words) at least speak English for any communications or questions the guest might have. This wasn't possible, given that the guest spoke mostly their own language and only a few words of English.
